Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tomato, sliced
½ cup pickles
¼ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
Instructions
Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by shredded lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, and a drizzle of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños to the meat mixture or top the burgers with spicy sriracha sauce.
Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or blue cheese, to customize the flavor of your burgers.
