Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
- Soak breadcrumbs in enough milk to cover them for about 5 minutes to maintain moisture.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine soaked breadcrumbs with ground beef, chopped onion, bell pepper, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce; mix gently.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide, then place into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together ketchup, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Reserve half for later.
- Spread half of the glaze on top of the meatloaf, then bake for 45 minutes until the glaze is caramelized.
- Brush the remaining glaze over the meatloaf and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
