Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, ½ cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 6 large eggs, 2 cups of milk, ½ cup of maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the cubed French bread at the bottom, then dollop half of the cream cheese filling and half of the mixed berries. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  4. Pour custard mixture evenly over layers, cover tightly, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Uncover casserole, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired, and bake for 45–50 minutes.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes, sift powdered sugar on top, and garnish with extra berries or warm syrup before serving.
