Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract, then blend until smooth. Gradually mix in the eggs.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix Devil's Food Cake Mix, canola oil, water, and eggs until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the chocolate batter into the greased dish, adding the ricotta mixture on top without mixing.
  5. Bake for 1 to 1 hour and 10 minutes until set in the middle.
  6. Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes and then refrigerate for 1 hour.
  7. Prepare the topping by whisking chocolate pudding mix with cold milk, let sit until thickened, then fold in whipped topping.
  8. Spread the chocolate pudding topping over the cooled cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
