  • 4 cups baby spring mix spinach or mixed greens can be substituted
  • cup shredded carrots can be swapped with thinly sliced bell peppers
  • ½ cup dried cranberries raisins or chopped apples can substitute
  • cup pine nuts chopped walnuts or sunflower seeds are alternatives
  • 10.5 oz canned mandarin oranges fresh orange segments can be used
  • cup chow mein noodles crispy fried onions make a great substitute
For the Dressing
  • cup teriyaki sauce homemade soy-sauce and honey blend also works
  • cup apple cider vinegar rice vinegar is a suitable replacement
  • ½ cup olive oil sesame oil adds an Asian flair
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder fresh minced garlic offers a more intense flavor
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder can be replaced with fresh minced onion
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Boil salted water and cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions for about 10–12 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water until cooled.
  2. In a mason jar, mix teriyaki sauce, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shake until combined and chill.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine baby spring mix, shredded carrots, dried cranberries, and pine nuts. Gently fold in drained mandarin oranges.
  4. Gradually mix in the cooled bowtie pasta, tossing carefully to combine without damaging the spring mix and oranges.
  5. Just before serving, sprinkle chow mein noodles on top and drizzle with teriyaki dressing to taste. Serve immediately or chill briefly.

Notes
