Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • ½ cup pickles
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

Method

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  4. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by shredded lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, and a drizzle of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
