Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a deep pie dish.
- Roll out your dough on a floured surface until 1/4 inch thick and fit it into the greased pie dish. Blind-bake the crust for 7-8 minutes until lightly golden.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Add Italian sausage and cook until no pink remains. Drain excess grease.
- Lower heat to medium-low, add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent. Stir in Italian seasoning and ½ cup of tomato sauce.
- Start assembling the pie with a layer of remaining tomato sauce on the pre-baked crust, followed by half of the meat mixture, pepperoni, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
- Place the assembled pie in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and top is golden.
- Let the pie rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow layers to set.
- Slice into generous pieces and serve warm with a side salad or garlic bread.
