  • 1.5 cups Fresh Fruit chopped, such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries
  • 0.75 cups Granulated Sugar adjust sweetness as desired
  • 1 cup Warm Water not boiling
For the Fizz
  • Club Soda or Carbonated Water any sparkling beverage
For the Creaminess
  • 0.5 cups Cream such as half-and-half; can substitute with milk or non-dairy alternative

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine warm water with granulated sugar. Stir until dissolved, then add chopped fresh fruit. Bring to a boil, bubble for 1 minute, then simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat, strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer to separate liquid from solids. Press down on fruit to extract juice, discard solids and let cool completely.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, pour in about 4 tablespoons of cooled syrup, then slowly add club soda until three-quarters full.
  4. Add a splash of cream to the glass and stir gently to blend syrup and cream with the fizz. Your refreshing drink is ready to enjoy!
