Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8 or 9-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the wet ingredients: egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil into the dry mix. Mix with an electric mixer until smooth, then gently stir in hot coffee.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 25 minutes. Allow cooling for about 10 minutes.
