- In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick. Create a small thumb indent in each patty.
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 6 minutes. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Check that the internal temperature of the patties reaches 160°F (71°C). Cook longer if necessary.
- If desired, add cheese to the patties during the last minute of cooking.
