Preparation Steps
- Thinly slice 1–1.5 pounds of flank steak or sirloin against the grain.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, and spices to make the marinade.
- Coat the sliced beef thoroughly in the marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil, then cook marinated beef in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Slice fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce while the beef cooks.
- In the same skillet, lightly heat pita or flatbreads for about 30 seconds on each side.
- To assemble, lay the warm bread flat, add the cooked beef, sliced vegetables, and desired sauce, then wrap.
