  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can be substituted for a stronger kick.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Essential for seasoning the beef.
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Adds a hint of spice that rounds out the flavor.
  • 12 count Hawaiian Sweet Rolls Any soft dinner roll can be a good substitute.

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and add the lean ground beef along with the finely diced yellow onion. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove the skillet from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls in half horizontally without separating them. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Distribute the cooked beef mixture over the bottom half of the rolls, then layer dill pickle slices and cheddar cheese slices on top.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and onion powder. Brush this mixture over the top of the rolls.
  7. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove foil for the last 2-3 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool slightly for about 5 minutes, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.
