Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
  2. Cut the stale bread loaf into approximately 1-inch cubes, about 3-4 cups in total.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the bread cubes and drizzle with olive oil, tossing to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle salt and dried Italian seasoning over the bread cubes and toss again until coated.
  5. Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-22 minutes, checking for a golden-brown color at around 18 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  8. Store the croutons in a gallon zip bag, leaving the edge slightly open for moisture control.
