- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cut each French baguette roll about 75% of the way through to create a pocket.
- In a small bowl, combine melted unsalted butter with minced garlic and brush the inside of each baguette with this mixture.
- Place the prepared baguettes on the baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
- In a pot, bring beef broth to a gentle boil and season with oregano, chili flakes, and other seasonings. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Dunk thinly sliced roast beef into the hot broth for 10-15 seconds to warm through.
- Layer warm roast beef and mozzarella inside the toasted baguettes.
- Return sandwiches to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Top with Chicago giardiniera if desired, close the sandwiches, and serve immediately.
