  • fresh parsley optional
  • hot honey or hot sauce optional
For Serving Side Options
  • 2 cups kettle chips
  • 2 cups coleslaw
  • pickles for palate cleansing

Equipment

  • deep pan
  • Baking Sheet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by heating oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F. In a bowl, combine seasoned flour, breadcrumbs, and salt and pepper. Dip each chicken tender into beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil, cooking for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. While the chicken is frying, preheat your oven to 350°F. Take your hoagie rolls or hot dog buns and slice them open without cutting all the way through. Place them on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are lightly toasted.
  3. Once the chicken is ready and the rolls are toasted, it’s time to assemble. Start by placing 2-3 crispy chicken tenders into each toasted hoagie roll. Drizzle a generous amount of honey mustard sauce over the chicken.
  4. Next, sprinkle crumbled cooked bacon over the chicken tenders, ensuring each sandwich has a hearty dash of this crispy delight. Follow this by adding a layer of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the bacon.
  5. Finally, after the cheese has melted, remove the sandwiches from the oven. Optional: garnish with some fresh parsley. Serve warm, alongside kettle chips or coleslaw.
