For the Beef
  • 1 lb Beef (Fresh, Thinly Sliced) Consider tofu for a vegetarian option.
For the Marinade
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce Low-sodium is a healthier option.
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1 tbsp Chinese White Rice Vinegar
For the Black Pepper Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Potato Starch

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and corn starch until smooth. Add thinly sliced beef and let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add udon noodles, cooking for 1-2 minutes until loosened. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  3. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and onion, stir-frying until fragrant. Add cabbage and stir-fry until wilted.
  4. Add marinated beef into the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Prepare black pepper sauce by mixing remaining ingredients and adding to the wok, stirring until thickened.
  6. Return vegetables and udon noodles to the wok, tossing to coat in the sauce. Heat through for 1 additional minute.

Notes
