Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, milk, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced jalapeños until smooth.
- Shape half of the meat mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet, creating a well in the center.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the well of the meatloaf base.
- Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to contain the filling.
- Lay turkey bacon strips over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 60 to 70 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F, broiling for the last 3 to 5 minutes for extra crisp.
- Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
