Cookie Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Add milk to the dough and stir until smooth.
- Gently fold in the candied flower petals.
- Scoop portions of cookie dough, roll into balls, and place on lined baking sheets.
- Slightly flatten each dough ball.
- Sprinkle colored sugar over the top of each cookie ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, checking at 10 minutes for golden edges.
