Method
 

Cookie Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Add milk to the dough and stir until smooth.
  7. Gently fold in the candied flower petals.
  8. Scoop portions of cookie dough, roll into balls, and place on lined baking sheets.
  9. Slightly flatten each dough ball.
  10. Sprinkle colored sugar over the top of each cookie ball.
  11. Bake for 10-12 minutes, checking at 10 minutes for golden edges.
