Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook for 7-9 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Lower the heat to medium and add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the beef. Stir well and cook for an additional minute.
- Butter one side of each slice of thick-cut bread generously with softened butter for a crispy texture.
- Assemble the sandwich with one slice of bread buttered-side down, layer on cheddar cheese, seasoned ground beef, and mozzarella cheese, then cap it with a second slice of bread buttered-side up.
- Cook the sandwich over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, pressing it down with a spatula, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let it rest for one minute before slicing in half and serving warm.
